its really tough to say. theres some tradeoffs... if you live on the north/northeast side of SA youll be in a suburb 25-35 minutes away from canyon lake&NB tubing w/ decent hillyish areas with prob a 30 min commute into the city. but if you live in a more centralized area of SA (downtown, pearl district), youll have that sorta hip, artsy, Austin scene (on a much smaller, less snobbish scale lol) but about an hour from canyon lake and NB.

as far as work commute from canyon lake to SA, I prob wouldn't recommend it. just like if one lived right off the lake in nw Austin and had to commute to DT Austin. similar in theory.

Austin will prob always be the preference and still have the edge with a closer nicer lake (heck even we got married out there), but SA is a great alternative.

Austin and then San Antonio. Honorable mention: Houston for exciting weather, scattered drop dead gorgious women and interesting neighborhoods

Beautiful!! That's exactly what I was looking for! Homes on the hills. Spanish style buildings. It looks a lot like California. More so than I thought. I actually think that looks a bit nicer than what I've seen in Austin.

Any more pics? Any of the areas near the lakes? Thank you so much for posting these.

Yep, he's at it again and each time the post is more goofy than the last one.
