I would suggest Richardson as well, plus some of the other areas in Dallas, like Flower Mound, parts of Plano, Grapevine and maybe even as far north as Denton. All these areas have good schools, relatively low crime and good medical facilities.

I would suggest you visit, get a feel for the areas and get a job before you even think of moving.

I thought about Lewisville and Colony as well. Yes, good schools and look at all the surrounding medical facilities. I like Richardson as well, but much of it is older homes, that may or may not need a lot of updating which can get pricey. The Colony and Lewisville have more newer homes.

I am thinking of making the move alone, with my 6 year old, to Texas too.
Please get a hold of me if you can!

Thanks!

I am looking to move to the Fort Worth area. But I am not having much luck with finding a job from here in MI. Every employer I talk to wants me to be in the area BEFORE they talk to me. I keep hearing "When you get here, call us." Not very promising! Looking to me like I will have to stay with friends in Fort Worth, actually Arlington area, and then look for a job, school, apartment. In that order. Any ideas anyone???
Thanks!

Looking forward to my move.

Welcome to Texas! I hope you find your new home a wonderful place to be...like everywhere else, there are always people who are ignorant, but on the whole, Texans are friendly and open-minded -- we have become a melting pot of people from different parts of the country, all with the same common goal: safety, a good place to raise our children, and friends and opportunity and a sense of community.

I wish you the very best in your relocation!

Anyone there?
Anyone have any advice on where in DFW vicinity I can find a job?
I have a bachelor's degree in Communication. I work in governement sales. It is very much like CS though because people from govt facilities just call me and I place orders. I also prepare quotes for them.
Any ideas anyone?

Hope everyone reading this is having a good day!
