Hi, everyone I'm so glad I came across this forum, My family and I may be moving near Encinal TX. I've heard that living near the border can be dangerous and that there is a high crime rate in that area. Does anyone know? Also if anyone could tell me about what that area is like (is there trees, is it a green area, can you garden etc..) Thanks so much, BrenSue

all i know is that it's near Cotulla. i live in a town 2 hours north of the border. you would think that i wouldnt be dealing with border patrol issues-oh yes i do. majority of my work involves illegals. i dont speak a lick of Spanish either.
the folks are alright-not really ultra friendly like rural north Texas like i am used to, but the elders are VERY humble and sweet as can be. i like it ok, but used to a more "redneck" country type area...i dunno, it's just not my cup of tea but came here for a job and hey its Texas, and in my book, any place in Texas is better than NOT being in Texas
what brings yall to Encinal anyhow? USBP?
