Northeast Dallas has a large Ethiopian population and many Ethiopian establishments.

Not to discourage you from moving to an area with a larger "African" community, but most of those ethnics communities will be located closer to Dallas proper. Although there are a lot of good areas in Dallas, the schools may not be up to par with what you are expecting. Suburban communities like Frisco, Plano, Little Elm, Lewisville are very diverse and family friendly and will offer better public schools. If you don't mind paying for private schools, Dallas has many of those.

I hope as time goes on you'll see that as diverse as this country is and despite all it's recent problems, there are opportunities everywhere not just in certain communities and it's still the best place to be in the world. Welcome, and good luck.
