Obviously we are about a year into the pandemic and I've quite gotten used to mask-wearing and am pro-science.

However, I do miss the days of smiles, lipstick, and just breathing freely! All this to say: when realistically, do you think the mask-mandate in TX will end? I'm reading reports of possibly 2022 (although not sure the estimated time~i.e. early 2022, mid 2022, etc.) I'm in Houston and have read reports today saying that hospitalizations are down 15%.

Fellow Texans, what say you?

EDIT: let's keep it respectful, been on this board over 10 years. Not here for fights.

It’s not enforced anyway. Might as well end it for yourself. Probably why we got Rona this last week. In the middle of an ice storm.

Most stores/public areas I've been in are enforcing it...I'm not ending it for myself or my family just yet...

Fort Bend must be different than up here.

Oh yeah. It’ll be much more strictly enforced in Fort Bend than in a place like Tyler or Lubbock.

I'd expect it's when we hit around 70% of the adult population has had second dose vaccine. Keep eyes on Israel on public policy questions since they have a huge lead on everyone in vaccine distribution so they'll be the leader in what everyone else does. Stuff that works everyone will copy stuff that doesn't everyone won't.

Make sure to keep your vaccine card in a safe place because I'd bet it will affect future travel i.e. which countries you can travel to and from without a mandatory quarantine etc. I'd bet in some facilities masks will be mandatory until case numbers are virtually gone.(nursing homes, theatres, medical offices/hospitals)

Not my experience. The ones that do, I'm happy never to give them my business again--aside from nuances in between (some places are sympathetic but are freaked out by the prospect of being singled out for fines or worse).

I haven't worn a mask throughout the whole duration of this fake pandemic. Not once.

It stops for a person or establishment when that person or establishment stops. Otherwise the masks are permanent.

Agreed. You don't have the choice to not where a mask where I live though.

And they are happy to not have your business, I am sure

Most of the people around here are pretty smart and empathetic, though, so I have never seen them have to 'enforce' the masks - everyone is wearing one in all the stores/shops

You are under the impression this custom is temporary. It's not.

I haven't worn one ever in any of the states I'm in. Some big, progressive leftist population centers.

It stops for you if you stop wearing a mask. Not before.
