It's supposed to get hot next week, and ERCOT says they expect a record usage of electricity.

How likely is it that we have power outages?

Probably not very likely. Hot Summers are every year. It will be 98-100F. Nothing extraordinary.

From my understanding our power grid is designed to handle high loads during the summer months. We were taken off guard by not winterizing which significantly impacted our supply during the February incident.

I’ve kept all of the text messages sent out by Oncor regarding power outages in my neighborhood since 2019. I fully expect for there to be more occurring this summer.

Too much drama with this ERCOT lately.
I understand that winter storm situation, but this summer is definitely not the hottest, at least in Houston. My July electric bill is expected to be lower than June bill. And I drove the central Texas quite a lot recently, it was cooler compared to Houston that's for sure.
Maybe these are the libs spreading fake news again?
