I had to renew my drivers license recently when I was still living at my old rental, and I was told after I moved I had to update to my new address within 30 days.

What I didn't realize is that from what I am reading, the DMV does not allow forwarding of their mail through USPS and I still don't have my license 3 weeks later. I think it either got returned to sender or went to my old address which is 3 hours away and I don't have contact info for the new tenant.

Has anyone had the same thing happen and if so, did they resend the drivers license to your new address or did they tell you that you had to just reapply again with new address and they didn't send you the old one?

You can track whether your license or ID card has been produced or mailed on the DPS website.
