If anyone has experience with Texas A&M University-Commerce, please share your opinion and compare it with UT Austin or UTD.

No experience for me but it's not as good of a school as UT Dallas or UT Austin, with Austin being one of if not the best schools in Texas.

Still better than no degree, and probably cheaper than those two.

If you like small towns it might be preferable.

Not even close to UT Austin or UT Dallas, both academically and in overall college experience. It's a popular choice for kids who graduate in the top 50% of DFW high schools and either don't want to be far away from home, or can't get in anywhere else.

Commerce is a very small town, and the closest decent-sized town is Greenville, which is still pretty small. I had quite a few HS friends go there. Most of their graduates seem to go into teaching or nursing and they have a fairly good agriculture program.

A&M Commerce is in a very small town and there is not much do there. It does not compare to UT or UT Dallas at all. It is more in line with Stephen F Austin or Tarleton State University. They produced alot of teachers when it was East Texas State University. It's a cool little school but it should not be compared to UT or UT Dallas which along with Texas A&M are the best public schools in the State of Texas.
