I am currently registered to vote more or less against my will so maybe if this passes and I never register a party I will get unregistered? Wishful thinking on my part

Yeah, the worst part of the parties is that they both think I am avid members of their party and I get texts, email, and regular mail.

Deciding to close primaries is not a huge issue and has been done in other places.

What a whole lot more troublesome is the Republican platform supporting an ammendment that would require a candidate for state office to win a majority of counties in Texas in order to secure a win. Doesn't matter if a candidate has a majority of the total vote, they still won't win. It's basically ensuring a Democrat never holds state office again.
