Ok, we're roped into going to s samll town called Glen Rose next weekend--long story of relatives, etc. Is there anything to do there? We have 2 kids, 12 & 14. I tried looking it up, showed some pictures, one of a funeral home. so, is there anything to do in that town besides die?

You looked at some bad info.

Dinosaur Valley State Park,

Fossil Rim Wildlife Park,

Dinosaur Valley State Park, Fossil Rim, Glen Rose Texas

It is a pretty town too, and a good BBQ, Hammond's I believe is the name.

Dinosaur Park is a pretty choice thing to take kids to if the water is not too high in the river. You climb down the stone banks -- probably 30 to 50 feet down and can walk right out in the stream bed to the footprints. Worthy enough trip for that alone.

The kids like Fossil Rim, too. They really let the critters off the leash, there.

If you ever stop in Glen Rose to do anything, you've got to stop at Hammond's BBQ. They have the finest meats I've ever tasted, and great sides. And I've even had dessert there, and I don't normally eat dessert at most barbecue places. You have to try the blackberry cobbler and the peanut butter pie.

Hope you have a great time!

might try this since your children are older--but weather will be hot--need real hats and good shoes--not tennis shoes

You could just enjoy the visit with your relatives before they "die" in Glen Rose. Your comment about doing anything besides dying is so ridiculous but by all means, be sure to eat lots of BBQ before the living stops.
