If? What do you mean if? Huh, oh yeah, I keep forgetting that Texas is officially part of the U.S. even though it seems like Texas is the main country and the other states are our colonies.

We have to support the rest of the States in their misery since the main cause of it is from Texas .

I think for most of us though its just in fun. I usually play up the whole "way to proud to be from Texas guy" thing whenever I am around people from other states and they usually play up the "Texas is a 19th century backwater" thing. Its all in good fun.
