Why do other Texas cities think so lowly of San Antonio. Especially, the largest cities in Texas, except for Houston. SA is not Rodney Dangerfield of Texas or its red hair step child. If they really discovered SA again they will find out that this old historical city is now the third fastest growing city in America.

I wonder if that's only a phenomenon on the CD Forums. I personally love San Antonio, and actually find it a very nice city.

I notice it only on these forums, too. Isn't San Antonio the most visited city in Texas by Texans? I guess some people think it's nice, but they wouldn't want to live there? I dunno... let's break it down...
Dallas thinks Dallas is the greatest city in Texas, thinks Austin is almost as grand, but on a different scale, and hates Houston and San Antonio for being what it perceives as largely blue-collar and majority minority.
Austin thinks Austin is the best city in Texas, but hates Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio for being bland, uninteresting, boring, old-fogeyish, and --in the case of the last two-- blue-collar and majority-minority.
Houston knows it's not the best city in Texas, but is comfortable with itself for the most part, hates Dallas, likes Austin, and commiserates with San Antonio for being overlooked and underrated.
San Antonio is comfortable being one of the oldest and largest cities in Texas with the most unique, homegrown culture, and doesn't feel the need to shout it from the rooftops constantly like other Texas cities just coming into their own.
Does that about cover it?

Austin isn't all that. If it weren't for UT, Austin would just be "another one of those" state capital cities.

IMO - Austin is overrated, Dallas is overrated... Houston is highly
underrated , San Antonio is probably a little underrated... and I don't know much about Fort Worth.

SA proper is the 2nd largest in TX but outside of SA proper there is much of nothing. It's a big city that still feels like a small town in many ways.

What, big city that feels like a small town? I'll give you that one. Everything randomly scattered due to lack of zoning reminds me of small towns all jammed together.
Otherwise more people in the metro live outside the city limits of Houston. Roughly 3.5M outside vs. 2.1M inside.
