It's me again. Let's gather once again because we've previously visited things as general as desserts on this Texas set of forums. And you've seen my previous thread about bakeries. But I want to narrow things down now. Let's look now at one thing. And that one thing I'd like us to focus on right here, right now, is pie. Yep, it's yet another food thread, and slap me if I need to stop. We're going to have 'Texas Pie Talk' on City-Data. As fall progresses, more and more energy centers around pies, even though they get eaten all year long, but this time to come is especially the time when people eat more of them. And the holidays are coming. No cookies, brownies, or cakes in this thread. Just pie.

Now the bigger question: What kind of pie do you like? You can also share stories about your favorite pie? Or when you're in the kitchen....what pie do you like to make? Maybe there are even certain types for certain different times of the year that work for you. I'll let you know right now that I have two favorites that stand out for me, but I confess I'm not limited to those two, and they are apple and blackberry.

You've heard some of mine already, but let's hear yours now. Let's all find out about pies right here. Your favorite -- right here, right now. Let 'er rip, and be careful not to burn your hands in the oven, so use that oven mitt!

There are so many kinds out there and there are even some I've never heard of, but are possible. But I have to limit the options in the poll, or they'd be running off the page!

I have another favorite of the cream variety. Whenever I'm in Glen Rose and in the mood for dessert at Hammond's BBQ, they have an excellent peanut butter pie that is out of this world. And they, too, have buttermilk pie as an option.

How funny Case, I was going to say Peanut butter pie too. From the list, I'd pick Peach. My husband has never had peanut butter pie, or me for that matter, but I made one once just to try it. It was great. One of my husband's favorite kinds now. My husbands BIL is totally enamoured of Raisin Pie. My SIL makes him one every Christmas, and I have yet to try it...but he doesn't really share it either. I think he eats in all in one bite or something.

Buttermilk with Pecan. With real vanilla beans.

And I make my crust with Crisco.

Oh, I use a little honey for my brown sugar. It works great.
