I will be moving to WF in about 6 months and was wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any grocery stores that sell a wide variety of organic foods. Are there chain grocery stores, eg. Krogers? HEB? Thanks for your help!

gosh its been 5 years now since i lived in that area, but i do recall that Wichita Falls had a chain of grocery stores called UNITED, i think? and they were quite upscale...very very nice. liked them even better than HEB. lots of organic foods and all kinds of exotic yuppie selections.
if you are moving there because of Sheppard AFB, you know the commissary is way cheaper (tax free), but of course, the selections are not as eclectic, though you can get a decent variety of asian and german foods

Wichita Falls has a little bit of variety, but just enough to get you by. As far as grocery stores, they have United, which has two locations of the regular model. The other is Albertson's, with two locations, as the chain is slowly pulling out of Texas. They also have three Wal-Mart Supercenters in town, and they have grocery options. If you're looking for organic foods, United has a chain called Market Street, which is a higher-end, expanded version of the conventional supermarket and has gourmet selections and other things that you won't find anywhere else. It's at Kell and Fairway on the west side of town.

The city overall has a nice little combination of big-city amenities and small-town attitude. There is not much traffic there and it's a peaceful place. You'll like it there.

I second what case44 and caendaniels say. Sunshine Natural Foods at the SE corner of Kemp & Kell (behind the bank building) and Market Street are going to be your best options for organic foods. Last time I was there (about a year ago) the Market Street really impressed me with their selection of gluten free and organic products. Sunshine will cover most of your supplement needs and they have a small cafe in the store that isn't half bad.

I live near Wichita Falls. Market Street has a full line of organics. There is also an organic buying club called Earthworks. It has about 40 members I think. I've gotten a lot of my organics through them for very good prices (discount wholesale). I think you can get more information about the buying club at this yahoo group: texomagreengroup : Texoma Green Group Some people there also sell their own eggs, raw milk, and fresh produce.
