You could always leave. You know, grass is greener and all that.

Pack your things and head for Austin or a one of the other big metro areas. Or leave the state altogether. I was raised in Midland and left when I was 18.

I dunno, get a job?

Just kidding, but seriously, what do you have against drinking, drugs, sex, and movies?

oh god you guys crack me up.
leaving is in the near future... just finished paying some bills, working on others before i can relocate. austin is the nearest choice, out of state is second. but yeah.

as for the job, i've got one... takes up too much of my time, thinking about quitting.
and i don't have anything against it, i was just looking for something... new?er? or just something i haven't done in a while. like breaking and entering... now there's an idea..

Well I'm alot older than you but also have young children but we like to go try different ethnic restaurants--Thai, Mexican, Japanese, Italian (all available in Midland at least) look up the Community Theaters---the Globe, MCT, Yucca etc there always seems to be a play or musical going on, we have parties at each others houses too (mostly pizza and juice!) seems like at least two new art centers have opened up and have all kinds of classes---there are all kinds of clubs too like bike riding clubs (they ride in town and out of town, sports, horseback riding, there is even an Opera club!) Don't know what you like to do but these are just some things I've heard of and I've only lived here for 2 yrs. Now for people with children, I could give you so many suggestions of things to do, your head would spin!!!

Pam
