Hmmm... had it been me, I would have looked to buy a house instead of renting or being on base. This is a great time to build equity into a home, even if you are only going to be there for 4 years. Plus, with the money the military gives you, its almost like double dipping.

so so true, and you are NOT gonna be stuck with a house sitting on the market unsold when you PCS....not here...too much PCS'ing and ETS'ing etc going on!
buying a house in this area is always a good investment.

We're only gonna be there for a year so I figured it wasn't worth it to buy a house
