HELLO My husand works in that area on the wind turbins. He is living there now in our camper on Corpis Critsti Lake. Our kids and I are comeing soon to be with him. I was wondering about the schools. We are staying at pirates cove can someone let me know which schools are in that district, where they are located? Also id like to know how good of a school it is?

That is a nice little area near the lake. My grandparents live out in that area. Very peaceful and rural. Your kids will be attending Mathis ISD. Its not bad for a rural school district and serves the whole area around Lake Corpus Christi. Its a nice school district though. You should have no worries.

My grandfather, when he was still alive, had a house on the lake there. I spent tons of time there and always had a blast. The people were great. Don't know about the school districts, so I'll defer to gabetx there. I did have other relatives that lived in Mathis, but we didn't visit with them much so didn't get a lot of insider info on how things are in town. Must have been pretty good though because they lived there their whole lives

My wife graduated from Mathis High School in the early 90s. She had a pretty good experience, though I'm sure her hard work and positive attitude contributed to that outcome. The town itself was fairly depressed last we checked, but as the others have mentioned, you can find nice areas around there. Plus, you're close to Corpus Christi if you need a bigger town every once in a while.
