Texas Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison introduced the amendment to an appropriations bill. It would prevent the FCC from getting funding for any initiative to uphold Net neutrality. According to The Hill, the co-sponsors are Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS), Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) Sen. John Ensign (R-NV), Sen. John Thune (R-SD) and Sen. David Vitter (R-LA).

Let's see...a challenger who opposes net neutrality AND toll roads, or the incumbent who cozies up to corporate lobbyists and believes everything in the state (including your mother) should be up for sale to the highest bidder. Sorry but Rick Perry's still the bigger loser.

I doubt that more than 1% of Texans have an opinion on Net Neutrality, let alone a strong enough opinion to change their votes.

Exactly what I was thinking. Not exactly a hot button issue.

Ditto. This issue would be a motivator for only the youngest cadre of voters in general.

You could be right. However, more progressive cities and states would not share this desire to be censored and controlled.

I think that she'd have to do something a lot worse than this (and I don't care for her) to damage her severely against Governor Good Hair. After all, he's had quite a while to build bad blood with
Texans.

From article:
In recent years, concern has grown that some Internet service providers are slowing down "access to high speed Internet for things like Internet-based voice calls, video streaming, and legal file sharing (that carriers might wish to block or at least charge extra for)," writes Ian Paul at PCWorld magazine.
While Net neutrality is supported by Internet-reliant companies such as Google and Microsoft, it is opposed by major Internet service providers like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon. Those three have come out against Genachowski's plan, ChannelWeb reports.
I am sure the lobbiest's for these companies will win... Don't even get me started

Hate to say it but RP has been a mediocre Gov at best. He lost my vote when he wanted to sell the Toll Road corridor to the Spainish Company.

His days are numbered.

What a choice. That's all I can say. I think Cintra is the Spanish company.
