Your statement makes me laugh, you make it sound like Texas is full of gay bashers. Heres a story for you.......I have lived in Texas 32 years and NEVER have received any hate mail, threats, violence or any other "hate crime" related stuff, yet I lived in a "northern" state for 4 years and was beaten and left for dead by three thugs because I am gay, guess what state this was in? CONNECTICUT.

Have you ever been to Texas or are you making assumptions off of stuff Hollyweird produces?
I think this is very true. I know it is the case in Dallas, maybe because of some of the companies that are headquartered there. Many have a high gay employee percentage. There are some wonderful gay areas within the city of Dallas...

THANK YOU. Glad I wasn't the only one who found that particular post bothersome.

That being said, Amarillo is quite gay friendly. You'd be surprised how accepting people here are of difference.

To follow up, I think the rest of the country has a strange view of what Texas is. Amarillo is a town of only a quarter million and has SEVEN gay bars, a gay restaurant, and a gay friendly cafe. I call Amarillo the "Jersey of the South" because what do you see of New Jersey when traveling through? The highway, and the smell of burning plastic. When people travel through Amarillo on I 40, all they see is a little bit of a small skyline and smell cow s**t. Like New Jersey, get off the Highway and look around and it's pretty cool.

Hey I have traveled from Dallas to Amarillo for the Little Theater benefit in Amarillo a few times, and once they had Michael Feinstein - his partner was with him.. how gay is that? LOL.

Austin, but Dallas is not so bad either. Houston has a huge tranny population, I have no idea why. But if you're into that, that's where I would go.

I haven't heard that either! Interesting. The only thing I've heard about the LGBT population in both cities is that Houston seems to have a few more lesbians while Dallas appeals slightly more to gay men. No idea if it's true or not, that's just what I heard.
