Big Bend Resort & Adventures near Big Bend National Park
We stayed at the motor inn (it was called something else then) back about 7 years ago when we visited Big Bend NP. What would you like to know? It's very remote and in Study Butte, very close to Terlingua. The motor inn wasn't luxurious or anything, but it was a good location for visting Terlingua and the National and State Parks there. I adore that part of Texas and look forward to a time when we can go back.

Well, like I said, it's remote. The resort is located at the junction of two highways. When we were there it had a small restaurant. The RV park seems pretty popular. When we were there, there were some stables within walking distance and we went riding. Far Flung Adventures ( think they have a new name, as well) was close by and we used them for both a canoe trip on the Rio Grande as well as a Jeep tour closer to Terlingua.
There were a few more motel type places around, but other than that there is just not that much there, which is why I loved it!
I'd say the closest real town would be Alpine. I can recommend the ER there for any emergencies. Daughter developed an ear infection while we were there and the doctors and nurses at the hospital were great.

It "can" be as hot as 100-plus along the river in April. More likely in 70-90F daytime. Nights can feel downright chilly - 50-60F. Presidio has a weather station that is accurate for the river but less so for the adjacent highlands.

PRESIDIO 7 DAY FORECAST

You'll need to give a better explanation than "highway 20." For example: do you mean IH-20, US-20, Texas State 20, FM-20?

IH-20 is a main E-W artery across north Texas/west Texas but is a long way north of Big Bend. Coming from Florida IH-10 is the more direct route to Big Bend. You'd leave IH-10 in Ft. Stockton (or nearby) and follow one of these routes:

The direct route into Big Bend is US-285 through Marathon. Alternately take Texas state 118 through Alpine and bypass the park directly to Lajitas, which gives access to the river route FM-170 to Presidio. If Presidio is closer to your destination on the Rio Grande, then US-67 through Marfa would be the better choice.
