If you could move anywhere you want in "northern Texas" where would you go? We can move anywhere in the northern half of the state. We'd love a smaller city that has great schools, low taxes, low crime and tons of kids sports. I know I'm asking for the moon...
I look forward to all the replies, Thanks

Default North as in the top 1/3 of texas...

We can live anywhere in the WHOLE top 1/3 of Texas. Okay all, where's a great small city, not town, maybe a population around 80,000?

We have friends that live in Tyler, which is about 100 miles east of Dallas, and they love it. Tyler is considered "East Texas" but it's in the northern half, so maybe it qualifies! We live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, which is much bigger than you want, but have visited Tyler many, many times and have always thought it would be a nice place to live. It's got the pine forests that you see all through the South and is really pretty. Our friends consider it to be a "small Dallas" with good shopping and restaurants, just on a smaller scale without the traffic headaches. They can be in Dallas in 2 hours for day shopping trips when they want, which they enjoy, so they're not isolated in some backwater. I think Tyler's population is around 100,000.

Sherman/Denison - has Lake Texoma, Austin College, quick access to casinos across the dam in Oklahoma, new retail along Hwy 75, and it's an hour from Dallas. Sorry, don't know much about the schools. There's Sherman ISD, Denison ISD and Pottsboro ISD that I know of.

It depends on what type of scenary you like. Do you like the tall pine trees, the large oaks, or no trees at all(miles of mesquite)? Are you into lots of greenery, hills, or dry desert and mesas?

are you an RN? i am an ER RN here in Texas. i will tell you that the panhandle pays VERY low for RN's-the lowest in the state. DFW metroplex pays very well.
