We have a major severe weather event ranging from tornadoes to blizzards tomorrow. I thought it would be a good idea if those affected by this storm or any one in the future log what they've experienced on this board.
Maybe one day I'll get to report rainfall amounts in San Antonio.
I was so glad to see this thread here. My state will be divided. We'll have severe storms in eastern So. Dak. and a blizzard in western So. Dak.
Like a huge piece of the Heartland, we are included in the storm warnings that are running through Monday night. It starts down in Tx. and they've now extended it way into central No. Dak. As soon as ours are done, southern Tx. and La. are in the storm areas.
We had a lot of wind this morning. It calmed down a few hours ago, but we have had a lot of rain. We just had quite a thunderstorm that lasted for about 2 hours. The lightning and thunder were unbelieveable!!! Very odd for our area to be like this in March. I just went outside and it feels even stranger out there then it did this morning. It's like walking out of a Fla. airport. I love humidity, but it's just extremely odd for us to have this in March.
With quite a few southern states still having drought conditions, hopefully some good will come out of these storms, much needed rain. Stay safe everyone!
They have a flash flood warning in the northeastern part of my state. I'll bet that they (along with No. Dakotans along the Red River Valley) would love to send you some of their moisture.
Another wild thunderstorm for us this afternoon and our winds hit 66 mph. Unfortunately, it made our humidity disappear.
The snowstorm is still raging west of here and Jorma Duran is still reporting from Rapid City. I don't think he'll be back to visit there in the near future.

I'm starting to wish I lived were you are. That's more excitement than anything we experienced over the last year.
Here's what happened on my patio during a severe thunderstorm warning earlier this evening, 3/23/09 in Stillwater Oklahoma. HAIL!. It was mostly pea to marble sized with some appearing about as big in diameter as quarters. Media reports said the hail in Stillwater was as big as golf balls. Rainfall only amounted to .13, but another storm, probably not containing hail, headed this way. Here, it's not very unusual for early spring thunderstorms to come with hail.
My husband is out shoveling, trying to get through the 5 ft. snowdrifts to get to his truck! It is still snowing, school closed for a 2nd day. All of our town was "closed" yesterday....only emergency travel. Most roads going out of town closed as well. The wind has really caused a lot of drifting. This is the worst storm I've seen in my 49 years and I was born & raised here in Wyoming. It's just plain nuts!
