okay thanks! I have to go to Canada for work and probably wont ever go back, is Tremblant worth going up for? I have been to Stowe Vermont and would probably not want to go back. I just looked at the trail map of Jay peak, from the looks of it the tramway takes you up to where there's only blue and black diamond to get down? I actually am snowboarding, if I can't even get off a lift I definitely can't do intermediate, lol
Do either of you have any idea of where I should stay at either of the mentioned places?
Many things are cheaper in the USA too. Although the drive might be a bit further than places like Barrie.
I'm used to being in Lake Tahoe or Colorado, so I'm trying to stay away from ski hills. I usually get to go for 2 weeks so by the time I'm half done I can somewhat use a chair lift, but since it's only 4 days, I don't want to waste it being bummed that I'm falling off the lift every single run. So I definitely am only going where gondolas are.

I am not a big skier though I do go on occasion. Tremblant I think is often rated the best ski resort in eastern North America. It is not up there with Rockies, etc. but for the package deal, on this side of the continent, I'd say it is borderline awesome.
The skiing is really good, the resort's village is picturesque and fairy-tale like under the snow, food and nightlife there are also really good. And you will really feel like you are in a foreign country.
EDIT: It is also a bit closer to Toronto than Orford.

LOL. no ski hill near Toronto will completely fill the void if you are from the West Coast / Rockies. Toronto is located in the flat Midwest. I don't think many if any ski hills on the east coast have gondolas.
Tremblant, Quebec in Quebec and Stowe, Vermont are the top 2.
... but Tremblant (7.5 hrs) and Stowe (8 hrs) are far from Toronto.
i dont really have a preference how far away from toronto, i have a day to get there, but i'm trying to get back to fl on the 14th, so the further south is better.
I'll repeat... I am not aware of a ski hill with a gondola near Toronto. The better ski hills are near Montreal. Stowe and Mt Tremblant, both ~8 hr away from Toronto, have gondolas... although they are nothing compared to out West. Stowe and Mt Tremblant are both expensive, but I would choose Stowe, because you can get cheaper hotels nearby on Priceline/Hotwire in Burlington, and sales tax in Verment is half what it is in Quebec.
However, it is a little early for any snow.. so check the snow reports before you go. Mt Tremblant is further north, so they might have snow before Stowe.

I know, everyone just keeps suggesting place that dont have them. so I'm trying to make it clearer.
I went to stowe on christmas and all we had for a week and a half was RAIN, so I'm not even gonna try that this time since i'm going much earlier.
