Good place to stay in Toronto (hotel, safe, budget)

Visiting Toronto for the first time and rather not spend trip budget on lodging. Looking for safe clean room downtown or nearby, nothing fancy, queen-size bed and private bath, under $60 would be great.

If you know a hotel or B&B like this, I'd be grateful to hear about it. Thanks so much - Carol

For < that $60 / night? You're not going to get clean for that amount. In fact you might get bedbugs instead. Better up that budget for clean, safe and central. Try at least $100 a night. Try the Isabella hotel on Sherbourne.
