One is corporate-oriented, one is outdoor-oriented?
One is located in a mild climate? One is located in a harsher climate?
One has beaches, mountains, and temperate rainforest? One is located on landscape that's flat as a pancake? It's like asking why Chicago differs from San Francisco.
Why should we compare these 2? Anyone who does any basic research knows why they differ.

I agree with this poster except for some of the adjectives he/she used to describe Toronto. Both cities are great for different reasons. Toronto has a more urban setting with a more diverse population and a great art, music and film scene. Vancouver also has a thriving film scene but is more picturesque and health/environment conscious.
