currently, i have a 08 mazda3, and was considering selling it and getting another vehicle. the scion tc was one i had in mind, but now i'm not so sure. what other vehicles would compare?

preferably, looking for a 12-15k used vehicle below 40,000 miles, 09 or better. i might just stick with my mazda3. its been very good to me so far.

thanks in advance

What are you looking for out of the car that you're not getting with the Mazda? The tC and the Mazda3 aren't really equitable IMO (2-door coupe vs 4-door sedan/hatch), so it's hard to know what you're going for.

I'd keep the Mazda. The tC doesn't offer up anything particularly special and isn't every attractive to begin with.

I second keeping the mazda, it sounds like you just want a new car for the excitement factor of getting a new car. you have an excellent car which has high consumer satisfaction ratings.

consider yourself lucky and wait till your car runs out of life. then look up reliability ratings on New Cars, Used Cars, Car Reviews and Pricing - Edmunds.com, consumer ratings on Consumer Reports: Expert product reviews and product Ratings from our test labs and then make an informed decision that you won't regret later. you currently have an excellent car that while it may not turn heads, mazda owners know they made the right decision seeing as its one of the highest rated small cars.

unless you're upgrading to the next price level (say $25~30k) or need a cross-over/wagon, I'd just save my money & run that Mazda3 into the ground.

If you haven't had any problems with the Mazda, why get rid of it?

I'd have to agree that in that price range you probably already have the best car. The only option I could really think of would be a Mazda2 or Ford Fiesta, but that is technically a step back from what you have. However, you may find those cars to be a little more sporting if that's what you're after.

I think it will be hard to beat the Mazda 3 - it is a good car. Maybe a Subaru Impreza, since its also a hatch and has awd. For low miles, $12-15k, 09 or better, there's not much to choose from.
