My ABS light came on, and has stayed on, today. I ask a guy that had been a service writer for a nation auto repair chain about it, and he told me he would not worry about as long as the brakes still seemed to work ok. I decided I better get another opinion.

About three weeks ago, I got new front brake pads and rotors. I also had noticed I was getting a lot of vibrations certain times on the interstate The mechanic informed me my LF CV boot was torn so I had the axle replaced. The vibrations did not go away, but my tires are close to the wear bars so I assumed I justed need new tires. Also a couple times since I had my car repaired and before the ABS light came on, I thought I may have felt a very slight pulsation. I have not felt anything since the ABS light came on.

Should I have my ABS checked ASAP, or do you think it would be ok to wait a few weeks.

Jesus new axle, abs issues, and vibrations from a 2007 car?

As for abs, sometimes a dirty or corroded sensor can cause a sensor not to read and shut the she down. Or just a bad sensor. Usually abs sensors are used to detect the speed of each wheel. So there must be an issue.

Since your tires are old you could try the ole take it to 60, stomp the brakes hard and see if they lock up. But this will likely wear flatspots on your tires making them vibrate afterwards.

Your brakes will work fine most likely but they will not be antilock and could lock up and have you skid out of control on hard braking.

Got got almost same issue with my Camry 2007 v6. The brake is making rattling sound after I got the left axle replaced.the sound disappears after driving straight for a while and comes back when I restart the car. The abs lights goes on and sometimes goes off.
The mechanic who replaced the axle couldn't fix it as he had little knowledge about sensors or electrical faults.
Any help will be appreciated

ABS lights can be read like check engine lights. Someone who has the proper equipment can plug in and see if it's a wheel speed sensor or something else.

Usually ABS lights mean there is a fault in the ABS system, which is the pump, computer, or the wheel speed sensors.

If inspecting the actual brake, the only thing to really look at in the wheel wells is the sensor and the exciter ring on the hub. Usually you can unplug the wheel sensor and do a resistance check on it. Failed sensors will usually appear as open.

That's ABS sensors.
You wouldn't expect something like this to function well?
ABS light can be read with scanner capable of reading ABS codes, that includes brake codes. ABS light in newer Camrys eventually will cause ABS system shut down and has to be addressed.

You could use a repair service or buy a used module and replace it and drive without troubles

Here's an example of a search

Hi everyone.I think this is a standard problem for many 2007-2009 Camrys.
I think this is a standard problem for many 2007-2009 Camrys.
To fix it, you'll need a 2007 Toyota Camry ABS Control Module for $200, a couple of minutes of work around the car
