Do you have a 4Runner with a damaged front dash that was recalled? Did you get it replaced? If so, how long did it take for the dash to come in?
I'm taking mine in tomorrow for the pedal and the dash recalls, finally. They said the pedal can be in tomorrow, but the dash will take 3-4 months to come in. That's way too long! I was originally told by Toyota that it would be a couple of weeks for the process, but not 3-4 months.
The dash recall from last year where they just got around to sending out letters. If you didn't get a letter, you're not involved. I don't know the years. I know we have an '03 and '04 and both were recalled.
The Dash replacement program is a warranty extension and and not a recall. It deals with cracking in the cover. It's aesthetics and not structural. Talking to Toyota is worthless. They just BS you to get you off the phone and tell you to deal the Dealer. So depending on the storage availability at the dealership, amount of vehicles on their list and time allotted each week to do this repair will translate to how much time it will take to get to your car on their list. I put my Lexus on the list on 2/2015, the dashes started to become available in 5/2015, Toyota dragged their feet in fulfilling the waiting lists and I'm finally getting my dashboard next week in 4/2016. Your wait time should be significantly shorter due to the numerous complaints against Toyota, but expect upwards of six months.
We have 09 Camry hybrid
I didnt know anout dash recall letter-- my husband read it and never said anything.
My car has had darker dadh for while but thought it was effect of like Armor-all
Didnt say anything until we can home from 3 wks out of town and I saw my dash--- looked like olive oil was poured over it.
Looked it up--read some web sites--
My husband said " oh yeah--got that letter"
Called dealership boughtnit from--where I have had recall work done before pretty timely.
Said bring it in--drove there and talked to service advisor but got nothing in writting--no repair order which places part order from what I read is mandatory...
Do we have to go back and get mad??
There is a dashboard recall on the older models of 4runners and mine is a 2003 model. I am from Augusta, Georgia and in February 2, 2016, I ordered the dashboard from Milton Rubin Toyota dealership. I called back in August 2016, and the part was still not in. I was told that there were people that had been on the list for a lot longer. I just received the notice in the mail on Saturday and it was dated January 12, 2017. I also had only 14 days to call and make the appointment or the part would automatically go back to the manufacturer. They are finally installing it as I am typing this reply. If you haven't already ordered your part make sure you do, but it may take some time since there are a lot of people out there with same issues. My dashboard was melting and sticky. Good luck to everyone.
