I find it hard to believe that you get 25mpg city. That's better than a Corolla.
That was one of the deciding factors for me when I bought a '14 Avalon XLE (Pre-Owned, or Used). Hybrid Avalons get better gas mileage than non-hybrids, but they cost a little more. I like the smooth ride behind them.
I drive a 2014 Toyota Avalon XLE and couldn't be happier. 25 city, 35 hwy, combined MPG of 30. Lexus are cars people buy when they want to impress others. Look at me, I have a Lexus. Even though I can afford a Lex, I don't want one because I'm not trying to impress others. I'm also young. It rides smooth, great gas mileage and spacious. That's the very reason I got an Avalon: Not many people own them, which to me is good because the roads are oversaturated with Camrys.
I feel the exact same way. I have a 2014 XLE Premium. It's a nice car.

I average 24.5 mpg in local driving in my suburban area. On a trip I can get 30 mpg no problem using cruise control.

Hybrid models also have slightly less trunk space due to the battery.
