I just bought a 2007 RAV4 V6 to have as a 3rd car in our family. It has 97k miles, and I picked it up for under $8k out the door. If this car has the same reliability as most Toyotas, this will probably be one of my favorite cars I've ever owned. I can't believe they ever put this V6 in this car. It's complete overkill for the target demographic. Glad they did, though. This thing is a screamer.

2GRFE is what I think is in your Rav-4 Solid motor with few issues. Just change the oil and watch for oil leaks or buring oil. It has VVTI so stick with the recommended oil weight.

The upcoming RAV4 Prime is even faster... albeit, not available 13 years old for $8k.

Over 300HP (vs 269HP on the old 2007 model).

I'm sure they will be fine, but I would take the 2007 any day. I bought it for a very specific reason. and that 269 is underrated. the RAV feels faster than my GS350.

Still a slug compared to a QX50.

2020 QX50 0-60 6.4 seconds
2007 Toyota RAV4 V6 0-60 6.2 seconds.

And Infinitys are garbage.

Are you familiar with the word "pwned"?
To add insult to injury:

2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime 0-60 5.8 seconds.

Toyota claims it is their second fastest car... only bested by the Toyota Supra. Now that's screaming for a mainstream SUV.

I'll have to clock my 2004 Camry. Just bought it a few months back, with 197k, and boy howdy, I got a bargain. I love this thing.

Been driving a 95 4 cyl Camry - sold it with 329k on the odo. She would have gone to 500, but she was tired in a lot of ways. Most reliable car I have ever owned though. She was why I snapped up this newer Camry without barely a 2nd thought.

This 6 cyl, though - wow. Lovin' it. Thinking about replacing the suspension with something stiffer. Got some used 16" rims to swap out for the stock 15" on her.

Toyota actually makes a comparison in their Press Release date November, 2019:

"A comparison with an older RAV4 offers a vivid illustration of the march of technology. The 2006-2012 RAV4 offered an optional 269-hp, 3.5-liter gas V6 engine that reached 0-60 mph in 6.3-seconds, which is a half-second slower than the RAV4 Prime. And, that model’s 21 combined MPG fuel economy rating simply pales in comparison."
