Duh! Of course it won't. Every manufacturer has cases of unintended acceleration. He's just being realistic.

Imagine if Bush said the Iraq war would solve all of our Terrorism issues? And then one single minor act of terrorism occurred after.

Not many people are stupid enough to speak in absolutes.

I do not know if you read the whole story that the post brings you to but if you do read it you will clearly see that Lentz is quoted as saying that Toyota is not really sure what is causing the acceleration problem. That is a bit more than not being stupid enough to speak in absolutes.

This is what some of us has been saying all along. Sure, fix the floor mats and pedals. They need fixing. But don't try and fool everyone into thinking the problem is solved. We're' not that stupid.

yeah that floormat thing was an lol

also the "stuck" pedal. as if being stuck in one position would cause the car to speed up. no, it wouldn't. or shouldn't. it should maintain the "stuck pedal speed" and nothing more

i'm no engineer, but i'm pretty sure i am right about that much
