I will be on SWA today and enjoying their superb care, pleasant attitude, and professionalism. (And I am a previous 'Gold /1K/ Platinum.... from all the major carriers) They handled a 'crisis' on my last flight very well without disrupting the flight / passengers. (crew and the Air Marshall were able to get control of a pretty serious situation).
I will especially enjoy the 2 free checked bags, as I'm bringing more family heirlooms home from aged parent.
Unfortunately, you think that airlines are evil; my experience is that, for the most part, they do a fine job of helping people.
You can post something good without making it a backhanded compliment.
If you'd like, I can make this into the evils of airlines thread. I've had enough personal experience to elaborate.
