To someone who has made the trip, about how long does it take to drive from St Louis to Denver or vice versa taking into consideration necessary rest stops along the way. Thank you.

The 5 of us (wife and 3 kids) completed this trip 3 weeks ago. I was speeding (~10mph over) and it took 11.5 hours from Denver to StL with quick stops for gas and meals - all drive thru, no sit down. The return trip took about 12.5 hours.

If you stay near the speed limit it'll probably take you between 12.5 and 13.5 hours.

If you have a leadfoot like me, be warned, Kansas is absolutely crawling with cops. I saw more than a dozen of them sprinkled across the state with a heavier amount between KC and Junction City than anywhere else. The state is obviously dangerously low on donut shops and real crime.

Thank you. My neighbor headed for Denver on an emergency call yesterday and I was wondering when she'd probably be there so I can check in with her. She is one of those rare people who never goes over the speed limit. (Frustrates all the other drivers - I know.) So, say at least 13 hours. She should be there by now if she didn't stop to sleep.
