For every 1 hour i'm on a plane i have to stay at least 2 days in the country i'm visiting.
Amsterdam to California is 11+ hours so i have to stay at least 22 days in the US to have a nice holiday.

Rent car
San Francisco (10 days)
Yosemite (1 day)
Drive to LA (1 day)
Los Angeles (10 days)
San Diego (2 days)
Las Vegas (5 days)
Grand Canyon (1 day)

That's 30 days.
What would you change?

I'd spend more time in Yosemite, maybe drive down part of Highway 1 - Monterey to Big Sur maybe. I don't know what you're planning to do in SF and LA - but 10 days is a long time to be in the cities. Are you going to take side/day trips? San Diego is great - you might want to spend more time there. Vegas bores me after about 3 days unless you are going to do something besides drink and gamble (there are other things to do). But it all depends on what interests you. It also depends on the time of year and the weather. Also, Grand Canyon National Park is 5 hours from Vegas, just FYI. You might want to make that 2 days so you aren't so rushed (and go to the National Park - that's the real Grand Canyon).

In that you are taking thirty days, the itinerary does not seem unreasonable. However, you might want to look at a few things.

Do you want to spend ten days in San Francisco? Personally, I would look at spending 2-3 days north of San Francisco. I would recommend Redwood National Park, Lava Tubes National Monument and maybe even Lassen Volcano National Park. Also, you might want to spend a day at Lake Tahoe.

One day will not be enough at Yosemite. There is a lot to see. Make your decision as to when you are going to visit Yosemite as accommodations in the area are DIFFICULT and pricy.

Personally, I would strongly recommend traveling down the Pacific Coast Highway and making stops at Big Sur and Monterrey with a stop at the Aquarium.

Personally, you have a pretty good itinerary. My only modifications would be to spend five days in LA and SF and perhaps three days in Las Vegas.

I recommend the Moon Guides to help you plan your trip.
