Any recommendations for a lightweight rolling suitcase, with reliable quality (does not break, crack, rip easily, either the luggage body or wheeles)? Size either small enough for carry-on or not much larger than that. Price range $40-90 or so. What are your favorite?

Keep an eye on sales at Kohl's. With their coupons, etc. you can end up getting some pretty nice luggage for very little. I was able to get 2 Samsonite carry on sized suitcases a couple years ago that have the wheels that you can push the bag sideways (very handy in the aisle of an airplane) for $25 each. They have held up beautifully.

I agreee Kohl's is a good option as well as Sears.

I always buy luggage from ebags.com. I like having the ability to read reviews.

TJ Maxx usually has a decent selection at reasonable prices if you want to give the bag a kick in person.

It's a little bit above your price range, but theclymb.com currently has Pacsafe 21" rolling duffles for $120. (originally $220 if you bought from Amazon) Good quality- rugged fabric, zippers you can't just pop with a ballpoint pen, etc. You do have to register to use the web site (easy enough to send their sale e-mails straight to spam if they annoy) but odds are good they'll throw you a coupon to use on your first order. They also get some Eagle Creek bags there from time to time, and that's another brand that seems to be well-like by road warriors.

You might not believe me, but I got a really nice one from wal-mart for 55 bucks. This thing has been through it all with me and is still in great condition. I wouldn't normally recommend buying something like that from wal-mart, but it has been good to me.

Samsonite, four wheeler, TJ Maxx or Kohls, and don't expect it to last forever. Replace as needed.

I just got a Samsonite from Kohls, with 30% off coupon & kohls cash, of course. I don't remember the size but it's supposed to be ok for carry on. I took it on a driving trip a couple of weeks ago and was able to pack a weeks worth of clothes. Will be bringing it on a plane tomorrow.

I buy from Walmart ($30). Works like a charm for carry-on, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Don't exactly know the brand, though.
