Tomorrow I'm going to be stuck at Houston Hobby for nearly 6 hours (assuming theres no delays!). Gonna have to get comfortable there .
I vaguely remember a time when I was little we were at an airport all night because of a bad storm, but I don't know how long it was. What's the longest you've been stuck at an airport?
25hr in Zurich, Really 26hrs but since it was a 1hr connection international to international would not be "legal" to take flight 1hr after we landed.
We actually got in early had had two hours, but could not get re-booked.
But was OK gave us the day to do little day tour around Zurich .
My dad had a 72hr (Sort of Layover/Connection) on some island in South Pacific. He scheduled thru the island that had 2 day a week service. Took one flight in, would connect there to 2nd network flight 3 days later. To continue on to Hawaii. From Narita.
An overnight at PHL after missing my connection. Fortunately the airline put me up in the Marriott in the terminal, so I was comfortable. I think the total time was about eight hours.
Eight hours or so. I'm not sure. Well, that flight was cancelled after a long delay. I guess the flip side of that question is, "How many delays and cumulative hours of airport agony have you experienced in a 24 hour period".
23 hours at SLC. Was flying ATL-SLC-ANC. Flight out of ATL 1 hour late departing due to mechanical reasons. When we landed at SLC we actually had to hold on the ramp for 5 minutes while the flight going to ANC pushed back from the gate. There were about 10 people that missed the connecting flight. Airline gave us each one $8 voucher for food for the entire 23 hours. They also put us up in a real dumpy airport motel. They refused to pay for a second day and the desk clerk refused to give anyone a late checkout. A couple of us on expense accounts paid for a second day. Everyone else checked out and sat at the airport for 9 hours.
I have done it where I fly in to a major airport, stay overnight and fly internationally the next day. That way there is no danger of missing a connection.
16 hours...here's the kicker! I was going from the Southwest to Baltimore. My flight to Baltimore was redirected to DC, then New York then finally arrived at Baltimore. My bags didn't make it to Baltimore until over 24 hours after I arrived. The flight was under $124 so I didn't complan, but the whole ordeal was complete foolishness.
23 hours in Seoul. It was intentional and I visited a friend.
