I have a 3 hr 45 min layover in SEA the end of May.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Go to the waterfront?

Any good restaurants near the airport?

Thanks in advance.

Leaving the airport vicinity would be cutting it close. There's a Thirteen Coins restaurant nearby that is pretty decent. You might find the restaurants / shopping in the airport good enough.

I remember regular excursions outside airports ten years ago when I had 3-4 hour layovers. Ever since 9/11 it just was never worth hassle -- you can never predict how long it will take to get back thru security again!

How is Anthony's restaurant at the airport?

Depends what time your layover is. If it's during rush hour, 4 hours isn't enough time to get downtown and back reliably.

If it's during off hours, choose a resturant downtown, arrange for transportation and do it! There are some wonderful resturants, but -- allowing for an hour to get off the plane and back on -- you'll be cutting it close.

you don't have enough time to leave the airport and go back in thru security- trust me.

I think the terminal in SEA is beautiful. It's a great backdrop to have some coffee and watch planes (I'm really into airplanes though...). If you are traveling light, there is actually a fair bit of terminal to walk through and explore too. I wouldn't leave on that short of a layover.

Ok you convinced me to stay at the airport.

Now can anyone give a review on Anthony's restaurant at the airport?

You have time to jump over to Wally's Chowder House which is almost a rock throw from the airport. At Wally's you can see the local marina and Puget Sound. Security is not so bad you just need to get back to Seatac Airport 1:30 before departure. You have time

I concur with the 13 Coins suggestion - it's definitely close enough to the airport not to cut things too close for you.
