There's still a lot in the U.S. I hope to visit...we live in a beuatiful and diverse country...but there's something about visiting another culture and experiencing it that's mind-expanding and wonderful, too. And to cross oceans when time is of concern is still plane travel for most of us.
I don't mind the actual flying...I hate that you need to add hours to the process! I would like to have an airport within 20 mins. of me...and not have to deal with the security bull****! Arriving 2 hours prior and sitting around drives me NUTS!
I don't mind the flight itself, at all, and would gladly fly just for the trip. But it's the ordeal on the ground, highlighted by just getting to and from the airport. Which in my case, is now nearly impossible. I live a two hour drive from any airport, and there are no longer any connecting flights through my local airport.

What airport requires you to require two hours early--unless you are going on an international flight?
At this point even the airports with the historically long waits (MCO, LAS, DEN, LAX TBI, LHR T5, etc.) you only need 90 minutes unless you have oversized bags to check, are on a watch list (without a redress#) that requires additional screening, or have some other unusual reason to be delayed.
I typically arrive 45 minutes before departure (30 at airports with Clear lanes), carry on only and BP in hand. Easy peasy.
As for me I enjoy flying. I'm used to fly long distances by various Asian airlines and find them very comfortable. Huge planes, much delicious meal, multimedia entertainments and very kind, friendly flight attendants... I adore it!
I do not like flying as it scares me. I will drive if I can. However this year I want to visit LA and I live in Massachusetts so flying it is. I love trains but its not practical sometimes or even an option. As far as being checked over by TSA, I will gladly be pawed because id rather have them be thorough than be worried about offending someone who got pulled out of line to be checked.
I do enjoy traveling by plane. I hate the pre-flight parts, but I really do enjoy flying.
