So buy two economy seats and then you get double the space for 200%. Seems like a no brainier.
You don't get double the pitch. My ass doesn't need 200% of the space, it fits just fine. Plus it's not a sofa. There's an aluminum frame dividing each seat.

So it's OK to spill over that aluminum frame into someone else's space because it's free, but once you actually have to pay for it, it's not OK? That tells me everything I need to know about your position on this.

I don't "spill" anywhere. I fit fine inside the seat. The problem is the depth, pitch, distance between seats, whatever word you want to use.
The "simply buy another seat" mantra for people that don't fit in one seat is myopic in that just because you gain the seat, you don't gain any comfort or convenience for your $$. The seats that would fit properly are 500% more, not 200%, which is dumb.

If you buy the second seat it gives you additional leg room as you can stretch your legs out diagonally into that space. Ideal? No, but it IS a solution.

I'm not sure how your legs work, but mine stick out in front of my body. Although getting a hinge put in probably is a good idea.

The economy comfort/premium economy/exit row option generally give you the extra you're looking for at not an insane additional price.

You DO get that it's not "all about you" and whether you're comfy cozy. It's about whether you're encroaching on the space another traveler is entitled to.
Fine, round up the fatties and put them in the flipping cargo hold. Start with me, just shut the bloody hell up about it trying to justify your own prejudices and how airlines in general are screwing the traveling public, fat and skinny.

"I" don't have the problem. I'm just trying to be the Devil's Advocate here, but I'm clearly outnumbered by crazy.
