Some beautiful photos here thanks. Reminded me of my favorite from years ago, Trunk Bay. I also loved the black sand beach at the Anse Chastenet on St Lucia.
But now I'm a west coast person and Maui has my heart. The beautiful Kapalua Bay, with Molokai in the distance.
For me, this was a beach along the coast of Grand Manan. It's one of the sparsely populated islands between Maine and New Brunswick, in the Bay of Fundy.
No "white noise" from traffic or electrical wires, no voices in the distance, or anything else. Just a desert beach... the slow, shushing sound of the waves lapping against the beach, and the whisper of a breeze moving through the tall beach grass. It was pretty otherworldly.
I'd have to say Eagle Beach or Baby Beach in Aruba or Hapuna Beach in Hawaii are two of my favorites.
But for privacy and sheer relaxation, I would choose Hunting Island in South Carolina. People tend to congregate near the beach house-bathroom and I would walk about a half mile down the beach and have the whole beach to myself.
The beaches in Algarve, Portugal are incredible, too. Spent some time in Faro and loved it.
In my near 50 years of existence, I've spent just a few nights outside of the good ol' USA and I've never even traveled further east than Kansas City. But I have had the good fortune to see a few far away beaches such as Surfer's Paradise beach in Australia. The other few beaches that I loved were Hanalei Bay in Kaui, Canon Beach, OR & Huntington Beach, CA.
I'm obviously not a beach person. Watching the sun come up over a Florida beach was nice. I enjoyed a rocky Mendocino beach once. It's more of who I'm with or what I'm doing that I remember. For me one beach is pretty much like any other but after reading some of these posts I'll have to reconsider.
Ke'e Beach, Kauai (start of the Kalalau Trail, Na Pali Coast)
