You don't really 'need' a certain amount of time. There's not really much to see in terms of getting to know a place. It's more about just relaxing.

Take as long as you need to relax.
actually my boyfriend and i wanted to do it b/c he too has free rooms at the atlantis through harrahs in atlantic city NJ (i don't want to know how much he gambled to get it lol but thats a whole diff thing).

so i'm assuming even if it's not the best, it's worth it b/c it's a free trip besides airfare and food. do you agree? also, what time of year did you go? is june ok?

I went in January, that's when the tournament was.

I enjoyed the Atlantis and it is certainly worth the free trip.

Don't think you're going to get an "out of country cultural experience" or anything like that ... but you will have a nice place to relax!

One thing to remember, the food there is quite expensive so check and make sure you have a food expense account. I was given a 1000 dollar credit for 2 people and I think we spent 900 in 5 days.

June im sure will be nice.

All free trips are nice, take it and relax

Atlantis seems more geared toward teens and adults. The park is pleasant, is well maintained, and has a variety of rides. The food is no more expensive than WDW. Atlantis is supposed to have a nice stretch of Cabbage Beach. We plan to check it out. If we were traveling to Nassau for vacation, we'd probably plan 4 full days.
I liked Nassau. It had a gritty feel to it that made it very real. I've also gone to Grand Bahama Island, which was more or less boring, but I went specifically with my then 13-y.o. daughter to do a horseback trip on the island. There is a large stables on GBI that offers horseback riding trips through the natural areas and out to the beach.

is there a way to get from nassau to exuma?

i don't want to give up the free rooms at the atlantis. so i was wondering if it's possible to do a day trip at exuma by ferry or small plane? or to maybe stay there 2 days after a few days at atlantis?

traveling with my boyfriend. i'm 28, he is 32. no kids. he has free rooms at the Atlantis so we are going to stay there. but since everyone is saying Atlantis is too touristy i was hoping to go to that exuma island for a day. but it looks like it is too far. i saw that you can swim with pigs there! maybe we will just have to save that for a separate trip.

we like the beach, we like casinos/gambling. we like relaxing, drinking, restaurants, low key excursions, nothing crazy. the touristy thing might be good for us though. we want to be around people our age... we like to make vacation friends while we are traveling lol

but anyway, if it's possible to go to another island for a day, i would love to know how/which island

If you want to visit Exuma, make sure to spend at least nights there.

Just so you know, the swimming pigs (wayyyy hyped up by the way) are on Staniel Cay, not Great Exuma. Those two are 50 miles apart.
