I'm looking to travel somewhere overseas, roughly the radius of say NYC to Turkey or closer, but could be convinced to travel further.

I'm looking for the cheapest and best flight to somewhere cool picking an arbitrary broad date range. I haven't been to a lot of places, so there's a lot of places I would consider.

Anybody know of such a website? I've used Kayak Explore and it's a bit rough. The prices shown on the map don't always translate to actual flight prices.

Skyscanner with 'everywhere' as a destination can be useful. One thing you'll run into is that all the fare search web sites will cache previous searches within a certain amount of time previous and return them to you in the name of speeding up the search. And since some of the really good cheap fares can only last a few hours or until the travel bloggers publish them, it's just part of playing the game.

Does it display a map view as opposed to selected cities? If not, how do you get more cities?

Yes, go to Explore map on the left menu.

Or typing more city into the destination box.
