Lots of hotels give free breakfast. Plus near the Vatican there's lot of choices.

There is an amazing crepery on Via di San Giovanni in Laterano....it was delicious! There is also a little place one block down at Via Ostilla (one block from the Colosseum, but so not touristy) named Made in Sud....has the most amazing savory and sweet pastries.

If you have time check out ZaZas Trattoria, it is right near the central market. Also give the food court in the central market a try, they have so many amazing options. Finally I would also recommend Trattoria Antichi Cancelli, it is also close to the central market and the steak special is a must.
