Trying to decide if I want to make a trip out there this year.
I'm eyeing 4th of July week but wondering if it'll be too crazy hot to go.
For those who have been, how was your experience? What year did you go?
I'd like to know what the beaches are like...some pictures look absolutely gorgeous while in some other photos and in some video the water looks a tad 'murky'. I've also heard a few comments about the sand having a weird feel to it.
I understand it's a great place to disconnect/unwind...I'd probably do 3 days there and the rest in Playa del Carmen perhaps.
What is the vibe of the town like? I'm sure it's very laid back/ I've heard the people are very chill/nice. I'm assuming that means not much to do outside of laying on the beach, correct? Also, any input on the food there would be greatly appreciated.
Last time in Holbox was 1977. Was truly stranded on (lightly populated) desert island. Was great for
relaxing, and doing absolutely nothing but sand and water. 40 years later, I have no idea what one should expect.
Check travel advison-type site for current observations. Good luck.
