Hi,

I made a post about going to Portugal next May and I'm still going but am now thinking of going to Spain as well. Anyone do both Portugal and Spain in the same trip? I'm not necessarily interested in hopping all over or seeing everything. In Portugal Lisbon, Porto with a couple day trips. In Spain I know Barcelona is popular but I'm considering Madrid or Seville.

We loved Madrid.. We are planning a similar trip for early 2019 (2 weeks in Spain and Portugal). If you limit yourself so that you are not constantly moving to a new place it is certainly doable.

Granada is also pretty nice. Don't know anything about Portugal (except, of course, that it is next to Spain).

Spain can be hot. Barcelona also gets a fair amount of humidity. Barcelona has really interesting architecture but is pretty much as far from Portugal as you can get.

Make sure you experience tapas.

Yes I have heard of Granada being nice! I think baking here in the desert will prepare me for the heat!:-) Yes, definitely want to try tapas!

We visited Portugal and Spain in the same trip in 2015.

It was not an extensive trip. We went to Lisbon. Than to Madrid. Did a day trip to Toledo. Than ended up our trip spending a few days in Barcelona.

All in all, an excellent vacation.

Did this end of 2016. Had a blast. Did Madrid, then Barcelona then Lisbon.

Which was quite an adventure getting around by myself but worth it. I'd been to Barcelona before. Lisbon really impressed me so I plan to go back in a few months.
