Last time I was there, long time ago, I stayed in Le Marais, before it gentrified, & found it terrific. Agree with always checking any city visit with Metro line availability.
Our daughter used to live just outside that circle you drew in the 15th.
We mostly walked and had no problem sauntering up to the major sites on foot, but we are reasonably fit. The Eiffel Tower was around twenty minutes if memory serves correctly, and we walked across to the usual places the other side of the river. There are Metro stations everywhere.
