Years ago, I found a post (not sure where) in which someone said they always travel with a cheap shower head to swap out for hotel stays. Something like that would be a tremendous help for me because...

(1) I'm short, and when I travel, most hotels have shower heads that are up really high and/or have low-flow shower heads. This makes it difficult to rinse shampoo/conditioner without it taking *forever*.

(2) Bathing/shampooing a child who's even shorter (for now) than I am. At home, we have a hand shower in our tub, and we love having the ability to take a "shower bath".

We have an up-coming hotel stay planned, which will involve your standard tub/shower combination, and I'm hoping to find something to take along that can be easily installed to help with the above issues. It has to be pretty inexpensive and very easy to install and uninstall (no tools). A temporary hand shower would be ideal. Even if it doesn't work 100% perfectly and/or is so cheap as to be disposable after a week's hotel stay, that would be fine with me.

I've seen a couple products on-line -- hand shower attachments for tub spouts, which would be great -- but they get really mixed reviews (more negative than positive), so I'm looking for words of wisdom from anyone who has experience with this sort of thing.

Interesting that there is a traveler's forum thread of over 120 posts over 5 years on the subject of swapping shower heads.

There is a funny post about one person who forgot to replace the hotel's showerhead

Personally I would opt for the best tub spout type, as the risks and issues of messing with the plumbing are too great.

HA! I'm pretty sure that's the post/forum I remembered from years ago. Thanks for posting the link. After reading through quite a bit of it, I think I've decided against going through the trouble. I appreciate your posting back, though!
