I used to customize my US travel routes using MapQuest and they had one really nifty feature: attractions.
I could click on that folder/icon and see all
the interesting places to visit on my route.
I can't find it anymore
Anyone knows what happened to it? Any suggestions where to look for similar feature?
Thank you!

I haven't used Mapquest for some time, and haven't created a custom map in awhile, so I'm not sure if this works.
Click on the Find Places, click on the 3 bars to the left of Start Searching, click on More Categories, scroll down to the end, click Attractions.

If Mapquest does not work for you, try this website:
https://trips.furkot.com/ui
Its interface is a bit clunky, but does provide tons more "attractions" than MQ, and you can filter for types of "attractions".

Still exists, you can link to any location in many mapsites by clicking the coordinates in the Wikipedia entry.

Well they were all marked along the route and listed on the left side of the map. I could pick whatever was interesting to me. There was a direct link to exact location and description incl. days/hours, fees etc.
I guess it was much simpler than googling coordinates and looking for info on Wikipedia.
Anyway - it looks like this feature is gone...

The reason I mentioned the Wikipedia links is because there you can choose 36 different sources of maps and aerial vews.
