Okay, so May for a week or ten days.

- Loop of the southwest red rocks national parks - Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Monument Valley. Fly to Las Vegas or Phoenix.

- Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountain NP. Fly to DC or Charlotte.

- Brittany. Oysters, crepes, cider, prehistoric ruins, great music. Fly into Paris + train and car. https://goo.gl/maps/oLuPM86hmuE1dZT59

- Columbia Gorge and the Wallowas. Waterfalls, wine, Walter Brennan's ranch, Rodin in the sagebrush and Stonehenge. https://goo.gl/maps/FFN5ZwGE6cEhiZQY6 . Google the places.

Not China.
You can get on a cheap cruise now, but you can't get off.
I'd rather see America.

Go to the country your ancestors originated from. Or at least stop over there.

May is good for early Flowers in Northern Hemisphere, Holland, Ireland, Portugal, Spin, France, Belgium, Denmark, Scotland and England were all great in May.

For our 60th we bought a one-way ticket to Australia, and figured out how to get back to USA within a yr. Next time, I would not push it so hard... 5 - 10 yrs would be fine to be gone at age 60, Age 80+ might stick to shorter ~60 day trips.
