How does this work if you do not have an actual account with Delta?

For example, you cancel your flight but will get an e-credit for future flights. How do you then access in the future if you do not have an account?

I heard something about a ticket # but just want to find out as much details as I can before I cancel the flight.

Thanks

Delta miles never expire and consequently their accounts aren’t going to get deleted either. The easiest thing to do for the long run might be to create a Frequent Flyer account and then attach the ticket to that account before cancelling so its easy to keep track of the credit

Delta also does their schedule changes on Saturdays and given the large number of changes generating large numbers of customer service calls, I’d call Wednesday or later in a week for hopefully less hold time. The hold or call back time for high level elites can run 2-3 hours on Sunday or Monday right now

Thank you! I actually do have an account but it's locked out right now from me being hacked. I'm in the process of getting it fixed but due to them being busy it's taking longer. I just figured it was easier to ask the question as if i didn't have an account so I can make sure it's still possible.

Had a friend explain the e-credit today & how you apply it during future purchase.

Thanks again for the time/explanation.

You can do it without a Delta account, you just use your eTicket number from the canceled flight.

When you're booking the new flight on the payment screen you can see a link for "use eCredits", click that and it will prompt for your name and eTicket number, then appropriately reduce cost of the flight.

Thanks. When you cancel a flight does it get sent for approval? I did that and got a few e-mails sent to me from Delta saying they will review it. I had to fill out a form (basic information wtih the flight ticket # & passengers.

I guess I'm hoping I should get an email saying i have X amount of E Credit?

Try entering your ticket # here:

https://www.delta.com/edocs/redeem-documents

If have a credit with them and when I enter my ticket number it shows the credit amount and expiration date.

Thank you! I'm going to give it 24 hours because I think they did mention it could take a day. This is a good tool though!
